The RCS Middle School held its final Spelling Bee round for the Capital District Region Spelling Bee on February 3rd in the LGR with a large crowd cheering on the grade level finalists. RCS is a sponsor for the Scripps National Spelling Bee in Washington D.C. All students in grades 6-8 had the opportunity to prepare for the grade level spelling rounds held at the end of January. There were three finalists in each grade level vying for the chance to appear at Proctor’s in Schenectady for the final round. The ten finalists competed against each other for two slots to represent RCS at Proctor’s Theater in Schenectady on Tuesday, March 16th at 5pm. The two students who will represent RCS at the Capital District Spelling Bee are:

Sixth Grade Finalists

Our Sixth Grade Finalists are:

These talented ladies will move on to the next round. They will compete against the finalists from the seventh and eighth grade on February 3, 2009. The two winners of this round will move on to the Spelling Bee at Proctor's Theatre.
